DR. DINEROS, PIONEER OF WEIGHT LOSS SURGERY IN ASIA, is COMING TO GUAM JULY 19 - 22

Dr. Hildegardes Dineros pioneered bariatric, weight loss, surgery in Asia. During his visit he will be holding a seminar for the general public at GMH. He will also be appearing on the Rlene Live show on K57 by phone on July 14, 2004 and in person on the Jon Anderson show on Monday July 19, 2004.

(PRWEB) July 14, 2004 -- Dr. Hildegardes Dineros pioneered bariatric, weight loss, surgery in Asia. During his visit he will be holding a seminar for the general public at GMH. He will also be appearing on the Rlene Live show on K57 by phone on July 14, 2004 and in person on the Jon Anderson show on Monday July 19, 2004.

Dr. Dineros has gone to great lengths to assemble a specialized team for his bariatric weight loss" surgery practice. He is both a regular member of the American Society of Bariatric Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He was trained in Sauvergarde Hospital in Lyon France under Dr. Frering who is one of the world's most experienced bariatric surgeon doing Adjustable Gastric Banding, and New York Presbyterian Hospital with Dr. Marc Bessler and at The Center for Surgical Treatment of Obesity with Dr. MAL Fobi. Dr. Dineros practices in the prestigious St. Lukes Medical Center in QuezonCity, Philippines. St. Lukes Medical Center is the first and only Joint Commission International (JCI) accredited hospital in the Philippines and second in Asia. His Healing Hand Clinic situated in the St. Lukes Medical complex and has a friendly staff and well appointed wellness center.

Dr Hildegardes Dineros, recently stated that "Surgical treatment is not a cosmetic procedure, but rather a surgery that can reap profound positive long term health benefits for morbidly obese individuals." In the past 30 years a definite role has been established for surgical treatment of morbidly obese patients. The 1991 NIH Consensus states "dietary weight reduction with or without behavioral modification or drug therapy had an unacceptably high incidence of weight regain in the morbidly obese within 2 years after maximal weight loss." In the U.S. alone more than half of the adult population is obese and presently around 12 million Americans could benefit from surgical intervention.

Dr. Dineros will be holding a seminar free of charge on July19 , 2004 at the Guam Memorial Hospital 4th floor classroom 6 pm to 8 pm for persons interested in exploring the option of weight loss surgery. The seminar will cover the major types of weight loss surgery available and the criteria for the consideration of the surgical option. In addition to Dr. Dineros members of the SDA Wellness center will be participating.
