Lessons from Abroad (LFA) is a year round on-site educational partner offering language programs for youth in schools, childcare centers, after school programs, play centers, youth and social organizations, parent and child groups, home schooled youth, churches, and camps in and around Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia.

LFA introduces young children and their parents to various languages and cultures through interactive immersion programs using the thematic approach to learning with two specific goals in mind:
1) to expose young children to languages and cultures while they are developing new skills; and
2) to encourage parents to learn languages with their children by practicing the targeted language whenever possible and by taking the children to cultural events.

Deborah Crimes, President and Chief Executive Officer of Lessons from Abroad, conceived the idea for the Language Institute because of her passion for learning new languages, discovering new cultures and her desire to teach and share her love of languages. Prior to becoming an entrepreneur, Deborah enjoyed a 15-year career in contracts and procurement.
