Orange County, CA (PRWEB) July 16, 2004 -- Grey Matter efx announces they have officially changed their name over to Synapse Fx. Both companies are owned and operated by Joe Cornell and Josh Foster. The move was made in part by recent advancements with their CGI/Animation company Synapse Fx for the feature documentary California Sea Lions- An Unforgettable Encounter." Grey Matter efx. primarily specialized in mechanical effects, make-up effects and pyrotechnics for the motion picture and television industries. Synapse Fx was a subsidiary specializing in computer effects and animation.

"We are now both under one roof and one name," says partner Joe Cornell. This will make us more competitive in an ever changing industry having a one stop shop where producers can have multiple resources at their fingertips."

Synapse Fx is an emerging special effects company dedicated to providing physical effects for the entertainment industry along with computer animation and CGI. Combining 10 years of special effects experience, Josh Foster and Joe Cornell established Grey Matter efx. in 1999. Under the new label of Synapse Fx., they have completed the first stages of animation for the California Sea Lions" and Channel Islands" documentary due out in 2005.
