QRS Diagnostic Releases Office Medic 5.0 Software
New Medical Device Software Platform Delivers Advanced, Real-time Diagnostic Testing
MINNEAPOLIS - July 20, 2004 - QRS Diagnostic, leader in innovative design and development of software-based medical devices, announces the release of Office Medic 5.0, its patient information management system. The 5.0 version complements QRS computer card medical devices to support real-time diagnostic testing. A new software platform, developed with .NET tools, Office Medic 5.0 works with QRS devices to provide caregivers with the flexibility and mobility to perform diagnostic tests and securely manage the results on standard PDAs, Pocket PCs and laptop computers at the point of care.
QRS designed Office Medic 5.0 to address the security and confidentiality requirements of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). It requires and manages user authentication and access privileges, and logs all transactions. The new software, which also features an advanced user interface for managing patients and tests, now delivers device support with discrete Active X, COM, and other component technologies to support integration with third-party software and devices.
Office Medic 5.0 is offered with QRS software-based devices for spirometry, pulse oximetry, diagnostic electrocardiography and blood pressure monitoring. QRS devices, with their integrated physiological sensors, connect with off-the-shelf laptop computers, Pocket PCs and PDAs, turning them into mobile medical devices.
