TM SYSTEMS Intros 1st Language Quality Control Station for Individual Desktop Use
Emmy Award Winning TM SYSTEMS, developer of the industry's first and only fully integrated, non-linear language translation, dubbing and subtitling system has introduced another first, the "QC Station", or independent quality control module for individual desktop use.
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) July 17, 2004 -- TM SYSTEMS, the Emmy Award Winning developer of the industrys first and only fully integrated, non-linear, language translation, dubbing and subtitling system, has introduced another first, the QCStation" or independent, quality control module for individual desktop use, according to President and CEO, Ken Lorber.
Together with the other TM SYSTEMS language modules or stations, the QCStation provides a complete solution that greatly increases the efficiency of the translation, subtitling and dubbing process, while minimizing the hardware and software investments required on the part of the studios and the individual translators.
The QCStation is the quality control software that dramatically alters the traditional workflow of a dubbing and/or subtitling project. The QCStation does away with the lengthy and time consuming process of laying back an audio track onto a videotape, making a dub of that tape and then shipping it to designated locations where it is reviewed by quality assurance personnel. Similarly, it enables the user to simulate subtitling text prior to compositing the text either electronically or physically. Before the QCStation introduction, the process required going through typical long and costly shipping procedures before the soundtrack and subtitles could be checked for missing dialogues, casting or spelling errors, lip-synch, etc.
With the QCStation, as in all of the TM SYSTEMS software components, dramatic savings, both in time and related costs can be realized. This is accomplished because both audio and text files are sent, via the Internet (FTP secured site) from worldwide localization entities and simulated against digital video on any desktop, anywhere. This enables the QC personnel to perform a first level of script checking that includes mainly linguistic and dramatic parameters, for dubbing projects and reading speed, and text placement in the subtitling projects. This process eliminates the need to occupy an audio mixing or editing suite, or wait for a layback and VHS dub to be made.
The QCStation, is the first tool to offer the QC professional the opportunity to combine video, audio and text in one single, synchronized quality assurance station.
The QCStation accompanies the companys fully, integrated suite of language localization tools, including the PrepStation, which created digitized content utilized by TMs other localization tools; the TranStation, for transcription, translation and preparation of dubbing and
subtitling documents; the DubStationII, for recording session management; and the SubStation, for video subtitling. All TM localization tools are Unicode compliant, and maintain complete functionality in all languages, with any character set.
The TM technology is utilized by leading film studios and television networks, dubbing and subtitling facilities throughout the world. TMs technology significantly reduces the costs of the language localization process, reduces the risk of piracy of the video content and improves the quality of the language localization product. The revolutionary system is the recipient of the Emmy® Award for Outstanding Achievement in Engineering Development.
