Stay At Home Dad Comic Strip Is Launched By Plain Label Press Syndicate
Barcley & Co. comic strip chronicles the life of a stay at home dad.
St. Louis, MO (PRWEB) July 19, 2004 -- Plain Label Press Syndicate has launched Barcley & Co., a comic strip by Todd Schowalter. The strip features Barcley, a stay at home dad, who is doing his best to juggle parenthood, a career and his sanity, all from under one roof.
Its no surprise that "Barcley" closely mirrors its creators own life. "Ive created several strips over the years and it turns out the funniest idea was right in front of me," says Schowalter. "Conducting a conference call while changing a dirty diaper isnt something you see much of in corporate America."
In addition to Barcley, the comic strip features Barcleys wife Laura an elementary school teacher, kids T.J. and Blake, and Buzz the family beagle. Barcley & Co. appears in publications in the U.S, and Canada.
When asked if Barcley & Co. represents a growing trend Schowalter says, "Im afraid so and its pretty amusing." He explains, "Mothers have been doing this forever and are so good at it! Now, you have dads attempting it and it can be pretty humorous." He adds, "Stay at home dads have a lot of catching up to do, but we make for a pretty good comic strip."
