(PRWEB) July 19, 2004 -- More than 1,800 cases of serial homicide worldwide are examined and stored in the most comprehensive serial killer database "Serial Killer Crime Library".
http://www.serialkiller.cc/

While the public view of "Serial Killer Crime Library" shows basic facts & figures, research behind the online site is developping a study about family constellations of the most notorious serial killers.

Fourniret, Bodein, Dutroux - names that shocked examiners and public likewise during the last months - represent the most grisly and notorious type of crime, serial murder. Numerous psychological studies will be published, several books will be written, trying to find an explanation for the "why".

Despite lots of information about the killers criminal careers, there is little known about their upbringing in most of the cases. The study behind "Serial Killer Crime Library" will try to fill this gap.

This Serial Killer Database is a private project of an Austrian author, who will publish the results of her study in the book "Do Mothers Make Murderers?" in 2005. The title is intentionally pointing to the authorīs special interest in the role of female family members of serial killers. The book will explain the study in detail and back up itīs results uncovering new insight into well-known cases.

The online version of „Serial Killer Crime Library covers basic data about more than 1,800 serial killers from more than 45 countries and from history as well. Many rare pictures of serial killers can be found throughout the site. The database covers birth dates, death dates and verdicts wherever available.
The design is focussing on easy navigation and clear distinction between male, female, couple and team serial killers and unsolved cases.

The news area (updated weekly, in English and German) is tracking news about suspects, trials and updates in unsolved serial murders.

„Serial Killer Crime Library shares itīs internal (and more detailed) data with universities, authors and experts in the research field of serial homicide upon request.
