Community Expo: a Benefit to All Involved

2004 Edgewater-Rogers Park Career & Small Business Expo on October 9 & 10, will benefit the Broadway Armory Renovation Project. There will be entertainment, food, a career fair, children's entertainment, seminars & more. There will be plenty to do for the entire family.

(PRWEB) July 19, 2004 -- The 2004 Edgewater-Rogers Park Career & Small Business Expo will be held at the Broadway Armory Park October 9, 2004 from 9am to 7pm and October 10, 2004 from 10am to 6pm. The two day event is open to the public and will be a great opportunity for community members to submit resumes and interview for positions as well as get a better look at some neighborhood businesses. The event is named for the Edgewater and Rogers Park communities located near the Armory, but everyone is welcome and invited to take part. The Armory will receive a portion of the proceeds from this event toward the considerably under-funded renovation project currently underway. Designed to be fun-filled and informative, there are door prizes for everyone who comes, a fashion show, a full schedule of live musical entertainment, a childrens area with exhibits and crafts, and free seminars on a variety of topics.

Jobseekers will find many useful tools available to help with the job search. Seminars will be held on How to Interview, Composing a Resume, and other employment topics. Attendees who come without a resume will be able to create a resume onsite to distribute to potential employers at the Expo. There will be employers from a variety of fields so everyone is encouraged to come out and take advantage of this exceptional community event.

Small businesses located mainly in Edgewater and Rogers Park will be on site to share products and services available locally. Vendors will be stocked to sell products and schedule appointments for services among other transactions. Edgewater and Rogers Park are two unique neighborhoods vibrant and flowing with hidden shopping gems. Many people may not get the opportunity to just walk the many side streets and personally visit all of these establishments. An event like the Edgewater-Rogers Park Career & Small Business Expo allows multiple merchants to come to one location and introduce themselves to a wide range of potential customers.

Younger visitors to the expo will find that there is plenty for them as well. A childrens area will be complete with an Arts& Crafts center set up for children to create many different crafts. The area will also have exhibits and vendors all relating to children. Young attendees will be entertained by the Jesse White Tumblers, clowns and of course there will be plenty of free balloons. Guests will be delighted at the multitude of available services and programs. The Edgewater-Rogers Park Career & Small Business Expo may be in its first year, but with plans to increase services and features with future Expos, anticipation of it will certainly only grow.
