Patriots for Gore PAC Urges Historic Democratic National Convention
Patriots For Gore PAC calls on delegates to the Democratic National Convention to pledge their votes to Al Gore from the floor.
Auburn, Illinois (PRWEB) July 20, 2004 -- In the wake of events on the floor of the House this past week when Representative Corrine Brown of Florida was censured and had her truthful words regarding the 2000 coup stricken from the record, and as more and more of our civil liberties are stripped by this Congress and White House under the shameful Patriot Act, we urge delegates to the Democratic National Convention to see the urgency of the times we all live in. It isn't too late, delegates to the Democratic National Convention, to do something that we believe will bring the American people to the polls to secure justice and liberty! That something is to vote for Al Gore on the floor of the Democratic National Convention.
Do you not want a passionate, spiritually strong, experienced leader to lead our country back into the light? Someone who has spoken eloquently and sincerely for this nation's very soul? Someone who has spoken out against this preemptive war in Iraq for the good and safety of our people? Someone who has spoken out against The Patriot Act and for its full repeal? Someone who knows foreign policy and has experience in all the workings of the White House structure, and the respect of the international community? Do you want to make a bold statement that will right the wrong that tarnished our Democratic process in 2000, and sincerely put this process and this country first in the tradition of our founding fathers' wishes?
If you truly look at the last four years, you will note that this nation has had nothing but hard times since the people did not heed the call to take it upon themselves to right the wrongs that preceded those years. We now face the likelihood of four more such years, and a lifetime of usurpations at the hands of those this govt. was handed to on a silver platter. These events are therefore, not only the fault of the USSC and those in Florida who subverted the vote. They are now the fault as well of those who neglected to demand proper recourse for those actions! Counting unconstitutional votes in the Congressional chambers on January 6, 2001 has done nothing good for this nation. It has led to the tragedy we see today, and there is no way anyone can dispute that. Therefore, logically, it should follow that those people would want to avenge that wrong for the sake of their Democratic process, and to secure this nation.
However, that is not what they have done or now seek to do. They have continued to allow the Bush administration to occupy our govt. and tear our constitution to shreds. They have allowed them to bring about a whirlwind of preemptive war on top of a tragedy that occurred here on our soil, by using that tragedy for their own purposes. And they have allowed them to drag the name of America through the mud and blood of intolerance, hatred, and revenge. Abu Ghraib was not simply a reflection of the loss of this nation's soul, it was a clear reflection of the people who allowed it to take place by not standing up to these people four years ago! George W. Bush and his enablers have been occupying this White House and ruining this country for four years in plain sight of this country's leadership, who for the most part have been giving him what he wants over what the people need. It is now time for the people to speak out and be heard!
It can be you, the delegates, the people, who look into your hearts and souls to place your vote to restore freedom and Democracy to America, by nominating a passionate man for the office of President to right a terrible wrong that our leaders allowed to be brought upon us. To nominate the man who won the 2000 election, but was denied his right to serve his term by those hell-bent on a selfish and destructive agenda counterproductive to the principles our forefathers espoused. This would be a selfless, historic and patriotic act, but more importantly, it would be an act that would show the world what the will of the people in America truly means. And it can come from the people, as it should. What history you could make that our children would recall for decades to come! What a country we could build with Americans like Al Gore at the helm! A man who isn't afraid to stand up for truth and bring it to the people!
And to those who would dare tell us, the American people, to, "Get over" this treachery, being concerned about this process and righting this wrong is our duty as good citizens of this nation! Were the Patriots who wanted independence just living in the past? Were they unwilling to get over the treachery of the first King George who held them captive? We who espouse this cause are concerned about this country's process and her future, and that the damage done four years ago is now irreversible. However, as a nation committed to restoring what was lost to bring back honor, dignity and integrity, we can change all of that, and we can show those terrorists bent on breaking our Democratic Republic that they have not and will not succeed.
The people also need to see the higher ideal involved in this action. To do this would be the justification of our sacrifices these long 228 years. To call the man forward who has done nothing but speak out for us still, despite the abuse he knew he would take for his truth from those in the Republican Party and even in his own party, would be a sign to the world that the American people still believe in their Democratic process. Those who say we need to defeat the Bush administration are correct. The current administration is dangerous, and they do not act in the best interests of the American people as a whole. We at Patriots for Gore do not believe Al Gore would turn down a true showing of popular support from the people who called on him four years ago to lead us wisely and well, which he would have done. We also believe that there are still many Americans who have not forgotten and will never forget the theft of their votes, and want justice for it by voting for the man their vote was stolen from in 2000.
There is still time to set this nation on the right course, and it can be our time. This can be our American Revolution. This can be the time when we finally let it be known that all our nations founders sacrificed was not in vain. And even should Senator John Kerry still secure the proper amount of delegate votes to be nominated, we then call upon those super delegates who have been the conscience of the Congress, to vote their conscience once again in a fitting tribute to a man who has shown nothing but grace and dignity these past four years.
In the words of Al Gore as he accepted the Vice Presidency in 1992, "And my friends, if you look up for a moment from the rush of your daily lives, you will hear the quiet voices of your country crying out for help. You will see your reflection in the weary eyes of those who are losing hope in America. And you will see that our democracy is lying there, in the gutter, waiting for us to give it a second breath of life." You can be that breath of life, delegates to the Democratic National Convention. Hear those voices crying out for help, and make this a convention to remember, and a new start for America.
