A Statement from Eddie Deens Ranch
A statement from Eddie Deen's Ranch concerning litigation and the arrest of in a murder case near downtown Dallas
Dallas, TX (PRWEB) July 29, 2004 -- The Dallas Police Department recently made an arrest in the murder of 16-year-old Pierre Malone. According to the police report, the murder occurred at a liquor store parking lot at 971 S. Lamar on the night of May 23, 2004. The murder did not occur at Eddie Deens Ranch, which is on the other side of the I-30 canyon from the liquor store. Mr. Malone was not an attendee of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity scholarship fundraising event at Eddie Deens Ranch that night. The event was open only to those who were 18-years of age or older. So Mr. Malone and the 16-year-old arrested in his murder were not eligible to attend the event. Eddie Deens Ranch does not currently know why these two 16-year-olds were in downtown Dallas after curfew that night.
We wish to express our sympathy to Mr. Malones family and friends. We believe the filing of a lawsuit so soon after the event, and before police even made an arrest in the case, was premature. More importantly, we believe the facts will establish that Mr. Malone was the victim of a criminal act and that Eddie Deens Ranch was not negligent.
This statement was issued in response to the following litigation: Rovetta Malone, Individually and as Representative of the Estate of Pierre Malone v. Alpha Phi Alpha, Inc., and Eddie Deen's Ranch, Inc., d/b/a Eddie Deen & Company, Inc., d/b/a Eddie Deen's Leasing, Inc. Cause no. is 04-04979, 116th District Court, Dallas County.
