Saint-Petersburg branch of Pepeliaev, Goltsblat & Partners admitted to Interlaw

In May 2004 the Saint-Petersburg branch office of Pepeliaev, Goltsblat & Partners was admitted to Interlaw, one of the most respected international law associations.

(PRWEB) July 24, 2004 -- In May 2004 the Saint-Petersburg branch office of Pepeliaev, Goltsblat & Partners was admitted to Interlaw, one of the most respected international law associations. Interlaw includes law firms from 60 countries. Each Interlaw member is a leader in the field of legal services in its country.

In June 2002 our company was able to prove that it met the highest international professional standards and was accepted for membership by the Associations Board of Directors, becoming the first and currently the only Russian Interlaw member in Russia. The Saint-Petersburg branch of Pepeliaev, Goltsblat & Partners was established in February 2004. The branch provides the full scope of legal services that the parent company does.

The office is managed by Tom Stansmore, who was head of the Saint-Petersburg office of Deloitte & Touche before joining our company. Tom Stansmore was born Novermber 22, 1965 in New York.In 1988 he graduated from the American University in Washington, D.C., and in 1993 he studied Law at the Franklin Pierce Law Center in Concord. Tom Stansmore has a JD degree and a Masters in Intellectual Property Rights. In 1993 he completed an internship with the Soyuzpatent Company in Russia, where he studied Russian patent law and license agreements. From January to August 1995, Tom worked in a Moscow law firm as head of a team of lawyers providing advice on Russian law to foreign clients. He oversaw the filing of patent applications by foreign clients and facilitated their company registration. In July 1995 Tom joined the Moscow office of Deloitte & Touche CIS, where his main focus was on the restructuring and bankruptcy of enterprises; he also continued to work in intellectual property protection. In February 1997 he transferred to the Tax & Legal Department of the Moscow Office of Deloitte & Touche, where he was in charge of Russian and international tax planning issues. From 1999 to 2002 Tom Stansmore was Head of the Deloitte & Touche branch office in Saint-Petersburg.
