Deerfield Beach, FL (PRWEB) July 24, 2004 -- Platinum Television Group is pleased to announce the selection of The Dalmore Scotch Whiskey for its innovative, educational television series, Great Taste, to be featured in a segment on Holiday Spirits-- Single Malt Scotch."
For more than 160 years, The Dalmore distillery in Scotland has produced malts of character and distinction. The whisky collection has won numerous prestigious awards and in considered one of the finest distilleries in the world. There are three malts in this collection: the 12 years old, the 21 years old, and the 30 years old. Each is matured in a wooden cask selected from finest woods which contribute to the flavor. The Dalmore 1973 Vintage Gonzalez Byass Sherry Cask Finish has been produced in limited edition.
Dalmore means "the big meadowland" referring to the rich and fertile Black Isle, on the opposite shore of the Cromarty Firth from the distillery. The pure waters of the River Alness are used to produce The Dalmore, producing some of Scotland's very finest Single Highland Malt whiskies. Each of these exceptional malts has its own unique character.
The whisky-making process is much the same today as it always has been. New technologies have, of course been introduced over the years, but these have simply aided the consistency of the finished product. The main ingredients are simple: malted barley, yeast, pure spring water and the craft of the stillman.
Highland malts are sweeter and have more body and character than their Lowland relations. They can have very distinctive and subtle characters, with a rich mellowness and fullness of flavor, but equally, they can show a dry peatiness or a delicate fragrance, like The Dalmore 12 years old and Fettercarin 10 years old.
The Speyside malts are the sweetest whiskies. Although they do not have as much body as some Highland malts, their flavors are richer and more complex with fruity, leafy and honeyed notes and a subtle delicacy of aroma which, once recognized, should be easy to identify, such as in Tamnavulin 12 years old.
The segment will include background and history of the company and the distillery, interviews with company representatives and consumers, an explanation of the distillation process, and some examples of how The Dalmore quality is part of an upscale lifestyle.
