Nearly trippling its retail space to 1,300 square feet, Les Points has added numerous ammenities including large dressing rooms and a wooden dance floor, ballet bar and mirrors so that dancers can be properly fitted for shoes in a live dance environment.

There is also an increasing trend in technologically advanced footwear and apparel for the dance industry. Lighter weight, biomechanically engineered shoes help the dancer by maintaining their body weight in full plantar flexion (en pointe) position, reducing the risk of ankle sprains and stress, says a recent study by the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. "Proper fit and the right ergonomic tools are critical for today's daring choreography," says Gail Denver, owner of Les Pointes.

Londonderry dance shop relocates to Merrimack with larger storefront and greater selections.

Merrimack, NH (July 23 2004) -- Les Pointes Dance Shoppe, located in the Skyline Mall at 380 Daniel Webster Highway in Merrimack is pleased to announce its grand opening ribbon cutting and celebration on Monday, July 26, 2004 at 10 a.m. All are welcome to join owner Gail Denver and the Merrimack Chamber of Commerce as they officially celebrate the opening of her newest retail venture.

Located in Londonderry for the last twelve years, Les Pointes focuses on specialized shoe fittings, dance apparel and custom-made recital wear. Originally, the space was great for serving local dancers at the studio and a few outside dancers from other towns. As our client base and reputation for service spread, we realized that we needed additional space and a centralized location to better serve our clients," says Gail Denver, owner of Les Pointes Dance Shoppe.

The new Merrimack shop offers an expanded retail area thats literally three times the size of the previous space in Londonderry. Touting over 1,300 square feet of space, Les Pointes has installed fitting rooms, a wood dance floor, ballet bar and mirrors so that dancers can not only try on the shoes, but test them for proper fit and comfort in a live dance environment. We also carry a newly expanded line of shoes including Gaynor Minden®, Prima Soft, Russian Pointe®, Principal, Bloch and Cappezio® and will contactly be growing our line of bodywear and accessories," says Denver.

Times are changing even in the two hundred year old profession of ballet en pointe, meaning 'on your toes. With the advent of Internet storefronts selling dance wear and shoes, we discovered a new litany of issues with improper shoe fittings, difficulty in returning merchandise and a serious lack of personalized fittings and service," says Denver. From novice through to serious professional, it is critical to have the proper equipment and that it fit correctly. Otherwise, youre not only working the body doubly hard, but your fighting against the equipment leading to frustration and oftentimes, injury. This is especially important with the advent of new dance and pointe shoe technology. The open house and ribbon cutting ceremony, performed by the Merrimack Chamber of Commerce, will provide an opportunity to meet Gail Denver, tour the new shop and view the expanded line of shoes, attire and accessories.
