Photorealism in Architectural Rendering

Long a goal of architects, a new software package by 3DH (Atlanta, GA) brings photorealistic rendering to the PC. Employing a new novel global illumination model, the technique provides for real-time and accurate lighting in complex architecture environments.

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) July 25, 2004 -- Software for producing photorealistic imagery in architecture has been of varying quality, slow and difficult to learn. Written by physicists for physicists, artists have been left to painfully work out the intricate details of how to use what amounts to a research tool, rather than a product.

However, 3DH (Atlanta, GA) has now released an easy to use, photorealistic rendering package designed specifically for artists called ArchPro. Overcoming the research "feel" of current software, ArchPro utilizes proprietary algorithms to produce beautifully rendered scenes. Soft area lighting, global illumination, bump mapping, specular highlights and shadows are all supported for real-time viewing on a PC.

ArchPro goes beyond photorealistic rendering and also allows interactive control of surface materials, textual annotation, movie generation and animation. An advanced scene graph provides for managing highly complex scenes with tens of millions of triangles, while still maintaining real-time performance.

Starting at $995, ArchPro is priced for small firms, educator, interior decorators, and individual designers. For more information, visit www.archprosoftware.com.
