First and foremost, I am writing you personally to offer you My deepest sympathy and condolences on your loss.

I also wanted to express how very proud and honored I am to have Mike sitting here beside Me. You raised a fine human being. He was one of the best and bravest young men of his time. His selflessness in defending his country and helping the weak and suffering has brought him to Me. And my Heaven is brighter for it.

But your lives are darker. The void in your life must seem like the endless void of eternity. And you are asking yourselves, Why? Why did this happen to my son? My baby, my cherished child?"     You must want to shake your fist to the sky and curse me at times. I will understand if you feel compelled to blame Me . . . yet please remember I always love you.

My own personal sadness is for a world gone mad. There are no wars in My name . . . only peace. And, if I may be so bold, I need to ask you for a favor. Im asking you to please, not let your hearts turn to stone. Please look back at the wonderful memories you shared with Mike, and pray that mankind learns that free will is not a free license to hurt and kill. Forgiveness is the first step to healing. Yet, it is one of the biggest tests for mankind. I will be there to give you strength through this test.

Michael died with honor, dignity, a sense of duty and most importantly, a heart filled with love. As I look down, I dont see much of this anymore. Instead, I see people choosing hate before understanding, money before love, violence before benevolence. Its quite simple, all people are one in the same -- and Im astonished that after all this time, mankind still doesnt get it! My own Son gave his life for the sins of mankind; your son did the same. He has much to do to help me now.

Take comfort in knowing that Michel and I are with you at all times. When you see a beautiful sunset, feel an unexpected wisp of breeze, a sudden warm hug or see a particularly bright shinning star . . . We are there. This is not goodbye, you will be together again.
