Reston, VA (PRWEB) July 30, 2004
Bamboo Solutions Corporation, a software development company providing collaborative software solutions to government and industry, today announced that it has been selected by Ohio Tobacco Use Prevention and Control Foundation (TUPCF) to develop and host their Grant Management Information System (GMIS). The three-year, $312K contract was awarded after an extensive vendor evaluation conducted by Technical Merit Inc., of Cleveland, Ohio. The GMIS contract includes the development and leasing of the web-hosted solution, based on Bamboo Solutions grant.trak product.
In support of its work to develop a comprehensive and aggressive plan to foster tobacco prevention and cessation efforts in the state of Ohio, TUPCF funds activities through grants. A manual and paper-based process, grant management is quickly expected to become time intensive as TUPCF grows. The new system will help to automate the entire grant management process, with special emphasis on the day-to-day management of on-going grants.
Accessible around-the-clock, GMIS will allow grantees to apply, submit and track grant applications over the Internet. GMIS will help grant specialists streamline the current paper-based post-award processes including task management, communication logs, document management and financial budget reporting. The GMIS system will combine information currently stored in various formats and systems, enabling TUPCF staff to efficiently search through information. Email notifications, revision control, online reporting and workflow tools will help automate the entire grant application process from pre-award through post-award. Multiple levels of security ensure the integrity of GMIS information. The GMIS will simplify the grant application process and enable grant program project managers to better serve their customers.
"Bamboo Solutions will help us streamline and expedite the processing of over $17 million in grants that we administer each year, said TUPCF Executive Director Mike Renner. ÂBy digitizing the entire grant process from application to administration, grant.trak allows us to concentrate our efforts on developing, supporting, and evaluating effective programs that will significantly reduce tobacco use in the state of Ohio."
The use of grant.trak significantly expedites the deployment of the TUPCF-specific solution. A vertical application built upon Bamboo Solutions application development platform, grant.trak provides the framework to capture, manage, track, edit, audit, and share grant information.
The TUPCF grant management information system is currently scheduled for installation September 2004.
