ABQAURP (American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians, Inc.) announces that Richard H. Carmona, MD, US Surgeon General plans to be the keynote speaker at the ABQAURP Patient Safety Conference from October 29 Â 30 in Tampa, FL.
His presentation titled, ÂQuality Leadership: Government Initiatives to Enhance Patient Safety,Â will discuss the Federal governmentÂs role in promoting quality care. He will also review the numerous government programs planned and implemented that foster patient safety.

This yearÂs annual conference titled ÂPatient Safety: Perspectives from the Field of StakeholdersÂ will also feature other nationally known speakers including Jim Bagian, MD, former NASA astronaut, Nancy Dickey, MD, President, The Texas A&M University System Health Science Center, and William Hendee, PhD, Senior Associate Dean for Research, Medical College of Wisconsin. In addition, Booz Allen Hamilton will assist ABQAURP in running a Patient Safety War Games Simulation during the conference.
