ListGuy.com Is Featured On Fox News And Others After Selling A Mailing List Of "Households With Children" To Sneaky Portland Reporter

Posing as "from the office of Ward Weaver" ListGuy.com (www.listguy.com) was approached in Feb 2004 by Nicole Doll of Portland, OR for a mailing list of "households with a presence of children". It turns out that Ward Weaver was awaiting trial in Portland at the time for murdering 2 Oregon City girls, and Nicole Doll is a reporter for KGW in Portland.

(PRWEB) August 3, 2004 -- Posing as "from the office of Ward Weaver Inc", ListGuy.com (http://www.listguy.com) was approached in Feb 2004 by Nicole Doll of Portland, OR for "a list of residences with children".

Ms Doll gave the ListGuy sales rep 7 zip codes for the Oregon City area - with the request for a mailing list of children 5 through 14 years old. They received an email text file with the names of the head of the household and the mailing address. There were no childrens names or ages sent.

It turns out that Ward Weaver was on trial in Portland at the time for murdering 2 Oregon girls, and Nicole Doll is a reporter for KGW in Portland.

Evidently the purpose of this exercise by the KGW reporter was to highlight some people's desire for legislation making it illegal to market to families with children without their permission.

The List Guy wanted to know if Ward Weaver found his victims with the use of a mailing list? The answer is no! Or have any crimes against children ever had the victim "sourced" with a traditional mailing list? Not that anyone has ever heard!
