AdventNet today announced the release of a freeware version of its web-based network, systems and application management software, ManageEngine OpManager 5. The free version is suited for small business IT administrators and can be used for monitoring 10 critical devices.

Pleasanton, CA (PRWEB) August 3, 2004 -- AdventNet, Inc., the leading provider of affordable network and systems management software, today announced the release of a freeware version of its web-based network, systems and application management software, ManageEngine OpManager 5. The free version is suited for small business IT administrators and can be used for monitoring 10 critical devices.

Small Business Network management challenge
Most small businesses have small IT departments who perform a variety of other roles in the organization. Furthermore, when it comes to managing IT infrastructure, IT departments across enterprises face similar challenges. However, for small companies these challenges are further compounded due to affordability, resource constraints and complex implementation requirements.

Not having a management solution in place can prove to be costly for small businesses especially during failures in the critical network or server infrastructure. Small businesses require a network management solution that is simple, easy-to-implement and cost-effective. OpManager provides such an option for small businesses.

OpManager Small Network Freeware Edition
With the OpManager free edition, IT administrators of small networks can proactively manage 10 critical devices in their network. The free edition has no feature restrictions and users can get the complete monitoring, management and reporting features available in the commercial edition of OpManager.

The small business segment is venerable to loss of productivity without a network management tool. The free edition provides small business network administrators with similar productivity benefits that IT administrators in larger companies have when using commercial software such as the OpManager Professional Edition," said Mr. Rathnagirish M, Product Manager at Adventnet.

OpManager was the best according to us when we compared it against other network management products. It has a superb GUI, great functions and is practically a plug and play tool," said Matthias Bosshard of Zurich University. I am also going to integrate the free edition into in my home network as the product is great."

ManageEngine OpManager freeware version can be downloaded from http://www.opmanager.com/download.html.
IT administrators who want to manage larger networks can upgrade to OpManager Professional Edition after a 30-day evaluation.
