Newdow Under God Case Inspires Book Author

Michael Newdow's Under God case inspired a 32 year old parent, Ken Clifton, to write a book detailing official religious quotes from all the Presidents and States of the United States of America. Concerned for a perceived censorship of religion in America, Mr. Clifton's book seeks to raise awareness of America's religious heritage.

Amarillo, TX (PRWEB) August 3, 2004 -- Michael Newdow's attempt to remove "under god" from the Pledge of Allegience on behalf of his daughter may have had one result that Newdow didn't intend. It may have given inspiration and an open door for religious heritage media that wasn't as open before.

One such example is a new book by another parent, Ken Clifton, in Amarillo, Texas. "I was shocked that such a lawsuit could even be considered in this nation," Clifton said. "It made me concerned for the land my daughter will grow up in that religion has moved from a default to an extreme position to hold."

Mr. Clifton's concern materialized into a religious text collection of all the Presidents and all the states of the USA, as well as chapters of religious heritage texts and current religious displays in government. His book, A Nation Under God, is in the form of a collection of long texts with basic descriptions of the texts, instead of short quotes with long commentaries. "I didn't want people to just take my word for it, but to read the texts and consider it for themselves."

Written to respond to Michael Newdow's "under God" case, this book's high quantity of sources and texts hits like responding to a fly bite with a sledge hammer. One thing is for sure, though. As long as there are Michael Newdows out there to attack religion, there will be a market for books like this.

A Nation Under God can be purchased for $11.00 or less at all major online retailers, special order at many bookstores like Barnes and Noble and Hastings, and at the providential-plan.com website.
