Antony began illustrating directly on his computer in September, 1999 when he was living in Nottingham, UK pursuing a graduate degree in Philosophy. He bought his Wacom on eBay and has been using this digital pen and tablet ever since. He has been influenced by a number of illustrators and artists including Al Hirschfeld, David Levine, Edward Sorel, Ralph Steadman, and Roy Lichtenstein. He also counts comic book artists Joe Matt and Seth as crucial to his development. Antonys most recent illustration is of the late Marlon Brando as Vito Corleone from The Godfather.
Phelts LLC is a fictional company that manufactures luxury goods such as cigarettes, lighters, cologne, and clothing under the Phelts trademark. Being involved with some sin industries gives Phelts cause to sponsor the Arts. The companys products can be found mostly in fictional contexts but a limited crossover selection will soon be available online. Antony has created a fictional world and created characters to populate that world for upcoming narratives in the form of graphic stories and animated film. The show is meant to give exposure to his illustrations and promote his other artistic brands.
Originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Antony has run Siteway (www.siteway.com) since 1996. He is an accomplished graphic designer, having developed the visual identity for Nerds On-Site, Inc. (London, Ontario) while in school, and he continues to work today for corporate clients as an Art Director in Interactive advertising. He brings together his academic background in Philosophy, his interest in popular Western culture, and his fascination with marketing all together in his art. Antony lives and works from his Parkdale apartment in Toronto.
