SeriousAmericans.org Launches Animated Attack on the Bush Administration

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) August 10, 2004 -- Angered by the ineptitude of the Bush administration, a small group of animators, writers and Web designers have donated their talents to support a positive change in government by launching SeriousAmericans.org, an Internet showcase for their short, satiric political animations.

Using irreverent humor to skewer Bushs policies and promote activism, these quick-response, weekly animations are targeted at the common sense of heavy Web users such as students and computer-based professionals -- people who will likely forward funny and compelling material to friends and family. The creators of SeriousAmericans.org believe that this viral distribution of their material can make a real difference by getting normally apathetic voters to oust Bush in November.

The site already features a number of animations, created as an alternative to the lukewarm online ads presented by traditional Democratic organizations.

My New Years resolution this year was to stop complaining and actually do something for the country," said Brian Holmes, Web designer and founder of SeriousAmericans.org. My colleagues and I kept seeing these ads online that we would never forward to our friends -- they were just too traditional, too safe, and too unfunny."

Drawing on his previous experiences creating animated Web ads or Webisodes" for high-profile corporate clients, Holmes put together a small team of like-minded creative professionals who began writing and animating in their off-hours. The resultant animations vary -- some resemble traditional ads while others are more absurd -- but all convey a deep dissatisfaction with the current administration while asking viewers to get active.

Our goal is to create new material every week, so that viewers keep coming back and getting the word out to others," said Holmes. If our animations get sent around, if we get a few laughs, well be happy. If we can actually get people to think about this administration, to get out to the polls and make a change this November, well be ecstatic."
