Penguin Invades Puget Sound

A new book, Fly Like a Penguin by Marty Love, a native of Bremerton, Wash., reveals how a penguin seen in Puget Sound could have gotten there.

BREMERTON, WA (PRWEB) August 6, 2004 --A penguin seen in Puget Sound in the 1960s left a mystery in the mind of Bremerton native Marty Love.
About 35 years ago as Love, a teenager at the time, sat on the porch of his waterfront home, a penguin floated by on a log. Although he knew penguins dont belong in the Northern Hemisphere, he didnt think much about it until years later, and he never heard anything about how it got there.

After completing his journalism studies at the University of Washington, Love moved to Appleton, Wisconsin, where he and his wife, Cindy, proceeded to have six children. During these years, he remembered the penguin and began to wonder how it could have gotten to Puget Sound. After more than 15 years of research and writing in his spare time, Love has published his book, Fly Like a Penguin, which follows the penguins long journey.

Although the book is fiction, Love has written it to be informative. He considers it an educational, humorous adventure story. It would be classified as a childrens book for ages 8-12, but is intended to be enjoyed by adults as well. Love, who has read many books to his children, said its important to him that a book that might be read to a child would be interesting to the parents as well.

Fly Like a Penguin is published by Authorhouse and is available online at www.flylikeapenguin.com and most online booksellers, or may be ordered at any local bookstore.
