What makes the web site unique is that the sponsoring couple (who wish to remain anonymous due to the intensely personal nature of the problem) have gone through the battle themselves of having a seriously dysfunctional marriage -- and won! Now approaching their 30th wedding anniversary -- and committed to "going the distance" with each other -- they want to help others by passing along the knowledge and techniques they learned and continue to use to eliminate or minimize a wide range of sources of marital conflict. The wife, herself, suffered several years of abuse at the hands of her alcoholic stepfather. She now works for a family services organization in a Crisis Unit for children and teenagers as a Staff Counselor. With her years of training -- as well as personal life experiences -- she is in a unique position to understand and help the young residents find solutions to their own difficult situations, while working with other staff members to restore the child's families.
