Cat Smiley is coming home!

Leading North American fitness personality and champion skier Cat Smiley is looking forward to her Auckland Press Trip on August 13th. She has received consistant press in North America (including Fox, TSN and was even the star of a reality show) and welcomes all NZ media enquiries. Cat sees this as an opportunity to inspire fellow New Zealanders to stay true to their dreams, through sharing her success. She represents NZ internationally - Cat's skiing career has been featured on major networks including Fox, EXPN, TSN. Her recently launched fitness chain, Cat Smiley Fitness Boot Camp, looks set to pop up world-wide. And she is a nationally syndicated fitness columnist in Canada.

(PRWEB) August 7, 2004 -- Skiing is Cat's ultimate passion - respected in the ski industry for her zest, ability and persistence. Focused on New School and Big Mountain skiing, she took 4th place in ESPN's Global X Games (May 2003) skier halfpipe, helping win Australasia's bronze medal overall. This year she stomped into the finals at the World Ski Invitational Halfpipe, finishing 8th overall. Cat skied with the New Zealand Freestyle Ski Team from 1994-1997 on the Nor-Am Mogul circuit and was two time national (NZ) champion. A freak accident forced retirement months before the Olympics, and Cat returned to pro status from her two year rehabilitation in 2001 - focusing on Big Mountain competing and filming.

Her skiing exposure and promotions are extensive; television filming, shooting for magazines, coaching, guest media appearances and competing in world-class events. (North American Free skiing Tour, World Free Skiing Tour Qualifiers, US Open Half pipe). She was recently interviewed on ESPN and TSN with the Global X Games coverage, and FOX at the World Ski Invitational.

ATHLETIC PERSONALITY - Cats extensive background in promoting women in sports has attracted the attention of several networks, including Fox, TBS Superstation, Warner Brothers, Sky TV (Australia), Aujourdhui (France), TVNZ, ABC and EXPN. National TV - LIFE NETWORK made Cat the star of 'Whistler Stories', a twelve-episode television series that aired nationally in Canada at 7.30 pm (PST) from January 30, 2003. Based on her free skiing and athletic journey back to competition, this compelling insight into Cat's freeskiing career followed everything from her appearances on TV to heartbreak.
