Cary, NC (PRWEB) August 8, 2004 -- Cary residents and visitors can savor New Southern and Global cuisine when Southern Star Restaurant, located at 815 W. Chatham Street in Cary (which formerly housed Hieronymus Seafood & Produce), opens in the Fall of 2004. The restaurant has a seating capacity of 60, a bar area which will seat 40, and a future wine and private dining room that will allow 20 patrons.
Owner and chef, Alan Batson, offers New Southern cuisine combined with French culinary techniques and a Brazilian flair. His unique style of cuisine was created by blending his Southern heritage with experiences he obtained while traveling and working around the world. Batson has been recognized for his culinary talents in such publications as the New York Times, The Hamptons Magazine, and Yankee Magazine, as well as being voted #1 Best Fine Dining in Nantucket at the India House in '96 and '98 by The Cape Cod Times Readers' Poll.
"Our goal is to create a little restaurant that makes people happy," said Batson. "We offer a casual and comfortable atmosphere with World class food and wine. The restaurant is named after Jules Verne's novel about the search for a rare diamond. We hope that diners will find a rare diamond in our Southern Star also."
