Chalfont, PA (PRWEB) August 9, 2004 -- Jeffrey M. Gilmore, president of GFO Consulting, LLC announced today that long-time financial professional Fred M. Kaplan will assume the position of associate with the Chalfont based company. Mr. Kaplan has served in the role of CFO in various industries including retail, wholesale, business services, and manufacturing, most recently with World Imports, Ltd. in Philadelphia.

From 1993-2002, Mr. Kaplan worked as a management consultant independently and with the firm of Goldenberg Rosenthal, LLP, where he employed his vast experience in interim COO/CFO positions to help middle market clients achieve their performance goals. Mr. Kaplan is a Certified Business Manager and specializes in process improvement and organizational re-engineering, strategic planning, acquisitions, and diverse accounting systems. He also teaches Introduction to Finance as a part-time faculty member of Penn State University.

From 1991-1993 he served as a controller and consultant with Omicron Consulting and Omicron Systems, Inc.in Philadelphia. From 1985-1991 he served in financial management positions in the securities industry with companies including ProvidentMutual Management Company (Wilmington, DE), AMA Investment Advisors (Blue Bell, PA) and State Street Bank and Trust (Boston, MA).

Mr. Kaplan is past president of the North Penn chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants and the Philadelphia chapter of the Institute of Management Consultants. He is also a member of the Board of Governors of the Golden Slipper Club and Charities and has served on the Executive Committee of the Cornell Soccer Alumni Association.

Mr. Kaplan holds a BA in Economics from Cornell University and an MBA in Finance from Drexel University.
