Hypnotists Imagining the Possibilities

The National Guild of Hypnotists annual convention & educational conference is the largest hypnotism convention in the world.

With the theme of "Imagine the Possibilities," the annual educational conference of the National Guild of Hypnotists is up and running August 13-15 at the Sheraton Nashua Hotel in Nashua, N.H. The three-day international convention is preceded and followed by six days of additional courses to enhance the expertise of NGH members in their profession.

The many courses, seminars, and workshops on the schedule cover a diversity of topics, techniques and informational material. Included will be such areas as self-hypnosis for clients, neuro-linguistic programming techniques, forensic hypnosis, motivational enhancement, special induction techniques and other focal points of interest.

Guild President, Dr. Dwight Damon of Merrimack, N.H. will be the keynote speaker on Friday, August 13 spearheading a distinguished adjunct faculty of 190 presenters from the U.S. and such other countries such as Canada, Great Britain, Switzerland, Taiwan, Italy, and France. A report on the current legislative status of the profession will also be presented by the National Federation of Hypnotists 104, OPEIU AFL-CIO, a national union for hypnotism professionals.

Special recognition is being accorded to the NGH, as Mayor Bernard Streeter of Nashua, N.H. has proclaimed Saturday, August 14th as "National Guild of Hypnotists Day," and Governor Craig Benson has proclaimed August 8-15 as "National Guild of Hypnotists Week" in New Hampshire.

Also scheduled are discussions on specific utilizations of hypnotism for client self-improvement. In other words, areas of self-improvement that people struggle with every day - losing a few pounds for a special occasion, smokers who need that extra help to stop, or the person who gets nervous about flying, taking exams or speaking in public. Special attention will also be given to medical and/or psychological problems commonly referred for hypnotism by other licensed health professionals.

With a reputation of being the largest and friendliest hypnotism convention, the National Guild of Hypnotists uses this occasion to fulfill its mission of providing an open forum for a free exchange of ideas concerning hypnotism. Over 7500 members of this unique organization represent 45 countries and the United States. Conference attendance has increased annually since 1988 and more than 1,500 attendees are expected this year.
