(PRWEB) August 12, 2004 -- Florida Publishers Association, Florida's only state-wide, non-profit organization providing educational events about publishing, announces the expansion of its Board of Directors. Sylvia Hemmerly, president, states that the desire to provide accessible information to all members and the general public spurred the creation of the new regional positions.
In announcing the Board expansion, Hemmerly said she was pleased with the appointment of four publishing professionals to the new positions. Debbie Spurlock, Tampa, will serve as the Regional Coordinator, with three Regional Directors reporting to her. Coordinating educational events in their respective regions are: Frank Gromling, Flagler Beach, who will serve the North Florida region; Lisa Marie Kalaf, Tampa, handling Central Florida; and Terry Burke, Deerfield Beach, serving the South Florida region
Hemmerly added, "I am excited to see Florida Publishers Association reaching out to educate the public about the mechanics of publishing." She stressed that membership is open to anyone interested in publishing, not just publishers. Authors, "wannabe" authors, vendors providing services to publishers and authors, and others wanting to better understand the publishing world, also are invited to join. Membership information is available on the internet at www.flbookpub.org.
Florida Publishers Association will celebrate its Silver 25th anniversary in 2005. In anticipation of this milestone, the Association is planning a spectacular Spring Ed-U-Conference under the guidance of Conference Director Glenda Ivey, Jacksonville.
