Riverdeep, Inc.’s Vice President of School Marketing, Jessica Lindl has been named the winner of the first Pacesetter Award, part of Quality Education Data’s first annual Ed Marketer Excellence Awards. The Pacesetter Award recognizes the individual who has shown the most innovation, knowledge, vision and leadership in the development of their organizations' marketing campaigns. The award was announced at the QED Forum in Denver, Colo. on July 21.

Lindl and Riverdeep were recognized for an integrated marketing campaign for Destination Success™ that the company introduced earlier this year. Destination Success is a new approach to reading and math instruction that lets teachers effectively individualize instruction in a real-world classroom. The program combines standards-based assessment, learning management, award-winning courseware and professional development to help schools raise test scores even for at-risk students.

“I thought that the launch of Destination Success was a well-orchestrated, well-thought-out and well executed campaign that delivered against the business objectives,” wrote one of the judges for the award, each of whom were recognized leaders in education marketing. “The plan that was laid out for the launch was clear and demonstrated the value that an integrated campaign can have."

“I am impressed with the overall campaign strategy, the design, and execution,” wrote another judge. “I see wonderful evidence of innovation, knowledge, vision, and leadership!”

The Pacesetter award recognizes the individual that has shown the most innovation and vision in their marketing to the K-12 or higher education community in the previous school year. The winner was selected according to several criteria:

  • Demonstrated, measured results of their marketing efforts.
  • Implementation of unique and innovative techniques to reach their market; and
  • Leadership in directing the marketing efforts of their organization.

“Jessica and her team have gone far above the call of duty in launching Destination Success this year,” said Riverdeep’s Chief Operating Officer, Simon Calver. “Destination Success is a marvelous program, but most of us in this industry can tell you stories of great products that never actually connected with customers. The planning, research and integrated marketing that went into the Destination Success campaign made it clear to educators how directly the program responds to their real needs.”

Prior to joining Riverdeep with the acquisition of The Learning Company in September 2001, Lindl served in a number of senior marketing and sales management roles. She ran marketing for The Learning Company School Division and product management for a K-12 education start-up. She holds a MBA from the Haas School of Business, U.C Berkeley, as well as a BA in Economics and International Relations from Miami University, Ohio.
