Orphaned Foals Need Saving Now From Slaughterhouses

Foals anad Yearlings are headed for slaughterhouse. These babies and Yearlings need love, care, medication, and a 'forever home.

Foals such as these are used to make pony skin" items part of the newest fashion craze and they bring a minimum of $250.00 a piece just to keep them from the skinners, from there we must provide them care, feed, shelter, medical attention and most of all love!!

Pure Thoughts Inc. / Another Chance 4 Horses, a nationwide non-profit organization was founded and operational for close to a decade to assist equines in need. We are coordinating a nationwide effort to save these and many more from an untimely and horrible fate. Last year over 100 foals and horses were saved and this year with the introduction of training & placement facilities, expansion of the organization into a nationwide association and the growing amount of awareness and support over the slaughterhouse situation Another Chance 4 Horses and Pure Thoughts Inc, estimates that over 500 foals and yearlings will find happy homes and avoid the slaughter house. For now the supply of foals and yearlings will not cease but we are here to make sure they end in a happy home and a productive life rather that an torturous death at the slaughterhouse.

Over 50,000 horses are slaughtered each year; good sound American horses, yearlings and foals are heinously slaughtered, enduring hours sometimes days of tortuous conditions so that they may be shipped overseas for human consumption. The slaughterhouses are in Texas and Illinois and all are foreign owned companies.

These babies and yearlings need love, care, medication, and a 'forever home. We need help -- especially in the form of donations. All donations are tax deductible. These Yearlings and foals need hay, grain, medical care, farrier (blacksmith) attention, and love. The farms need things such as buckets, foal halters, brushes, lead ropes, and requires run-in sheds for shelters from the weather and drags to use in the fields behind tractors, to name only a few.

It is only by publicity that people can become aware of the fate of these poor unwanted animals and realize that there are people who care and are doing something about it. It is only through donations of time, items, and money that relocation and placement can work. Please give some coverage and attention to this human/animal interest story. We need your help.
