FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Toronto, ON (PRWEB) August 12, 2004 -- Grass roots and commercial support continues to grow for the GTAMC 9/11 Charity Road Rally being held on September 11, 2004. "It is gratifying to see that Charity knows no borders", said GTAMC club President, Fab Fiocco. The Greater Toronto Area Mustang Club organizes several charity events each year.
The GTAMC 9/11 Charity Road Rally is being held to raise funds for the September 11, 2001 Children's Fund, an organization dedicated to assisting children of 9/11 terrorist victims through their elementary and secondary education years. The group provides support and funding for their education. While many of the original 9/11 charities have disappeared, this group takes a long term view and intends to stay around until the year 2021.
"We are pleased to announce that the venue for this event and the Hospitality Sponsor is Dave and Busters' Restaurant in Vaughan, Ontario.", said Fiocco in a recent meeting. "Dave and Busters' management is excited to contribute to the event, providing parking, presentation and recreation space, as well as refreshments for the participants and volunteers." The Dave and Busters restaurant chain is headquartered in Dallas, TX.
Superchips Custom Tuning of Longwood, Florida, has demonstrated their support by donating the leather "team bags" that each participating team will receive. The bags are embroidered with both the sponsor and event logos. Other sponsors have contributed to the contents of the bag. Participants are requested to make a fifty dollar contribution to the charity.
The road rally is open to all makes and model of vehicle. Several other enthusiast clubs have announced their support of the event, including: Ford Truck World - Ontario Chapter, the SVT Owners Association, the London Area Mustang Club, Team 24K, the Durham Region Classic Mustang Club, the Ontario Focus Owners Club and the Late Model Mustang Club of Connecticut. These clubs have all promoted the event to their membership.
All proceeds from the event are being contributed to the 9/11 charity.
This event continues the club's emphasis on supporting charitable causes. A "Show 'n Shine" event, held August 8 in conjunction with the Super Coupe Club of Ontario and Fines Ford Lincoln Sales of Bolton, Ontario, contributed more than five hundred dollars to The Caledon Hospice. The club also presented a cheque for one thousand dollars to MADD Halton/Peel Region following a June get-together in Oakville, Ontario.
