Moms for Kerry Rally Day to be held in Dallas, Texas on October 30 at 2:00 pm. Event will feature local moms, elected officials that are moms and others gathering to stand up and speak out for America's children and John Kerry. Rally will feature songs, personal stories and compelling cases for supporting John Kerry and will give moms an opportunity to stand together for our kids. Dallas joins dozens of other rallies planned for the same hour on the same day across the country organized by Moms for Kerry all over the US.
Dallas, TX (PRWEB) August 16, 2004 -- Metroplex mothers are signing up by the hundreds to plan and participate in a rally being organized as a show of support for John Kerrys candidacy just hours before Election Day. The event, billed as Rally Day" by its organizers, is being coordinated by Moms for Kerry, a national grassroots organization.
On October 30 at 2:00 pm CDT, mothers and their children will participate in marches and rallies across the country. The event is designed to allow mothers to make their voices heard in their own community rather than traveling to a single rally location. Moms for Kerry believes that as supporters join hands and hearts for Americas children in small towns and big cities across the United States, our voices will echo from sea to shining sea.
We are excited to have a rally right here in Dallas," shared Moms for Kerry founder, Heidi Wanken. There are so many mothers here in the Metroplex who are supporting John Kerry and this will provide them the opportunity to make a very public statement that as mothers, they are standing up for their childrens futures in this election and will be voting for Kerry/Edwards."
Dallas joins a growing list of cities in which mothers are coordinating rallies and marches to show their support for John Kerry. Currently, more than 25 cities in 18 states are participating. The group expects to have nationwide participation with multiple rally locations in each state.
Moms for Kerry formed in November 2003 as a core group of mothers determined to make a difference in the 2004 election through grassroots organizing. Members felt the need to take action and get involved in the political process in order to make their voices heard after watching the Bush policies of the last few years that have abandoned Americas children in favor of special interests. There are more than 100 million mothers in the United States and the demographic is one that is respected and valued by candidates based on mothers consistent turnout on Election Day and their commitment to the issues that affect our children and country.
When mothers pull the lever at the polls, they carry with them the hopes and dreams of their children and look for the candidate who will put the interests of Americas children and their futures as a top priority. John Kerry and John Edwards have demonstrated that they will do that and they have outlined a plan for our childrens futures that is comprehensive in its scope. That is why they are the mothers choice in this election," Wanken stated.
