New Wonders at The Uwharrie National forest
Major renovations at national park
Badin Lake, NC (PRWEB) August 15, 2004 -- Although its one of the most beautiful and pristine areas of the Uwharrie National forest, The Badin Lake Campgrounds were sorely lacking in the amenities campers and vacationers are accustomed to. Since 9/11, it appears Americans have somewhat curtailed overseas vacations and are rediscovering the offerings in the United States for leisure activities. In response to the needs and wants of the community, campers and vacationers, the USDAs National Forest service has awarded contracts for a new boat ramp, parking areas and now, four brand new bathhouses, an equipment building and a well building. At present, work is commencing on all. Visitors will soon enjoy hot and cold running water, showers, sanitary facilities, baby changing stations, and in the cooler weather, heated facilities.
Avino Construction was awarded contracts in the amount of $787,000.00 for the Renovations which are expected to take approximately 8 months to complete.
Avino has appointed Mr. Dave Robert of Jacksonville, NC as the project manager. Mr. Robert is uniquely qualified for this project with a degree in Renewable natural resources and an exemplary record in project management. Avino, a heavy commercial and industrial firm which specializes in difficult and remote site construction has offices in North Carolina, Virginia and is headquartered in New York.
