MONOPOLY Game tournament and silent auction to raise funds for Grayslake (Ill) Library's teen services

GRAYSLAKE, IL (PRWEB) August 15, 2004 -- The Grayslake Library Foundation, along with numerous area sponsors, will host a local MONOPOLY Game Tournament on Sept. 17, beginning at 7 p.m., at Stratford Banquets, 54 S. Seymour Ave., Grayslake, IL.

The Grayslake Library Foundation hopes to raise more than $15,000 in donations through sponsorship of the evening-long event. The proceeds will be used to create a dedicated space and expanded programs at the library for teens in the community.

The Tournament grand prize has been donated by American Airlines. Other prizes to be awarded include a $750 Spa and Fitness Package from Condell Health Network, and two $500 US Savings Bonds from State Bank of the Lakes and Joyce D. Campbell Agency, Grayslake, plus other prizes.

According to Scott Landy, tournament director, Anyone interested in pitting their real estate trading skills against other top players while helping out a worthy cause should contact the Grayslake Public Library to register. The cost for a seat at the tournament is $45, with reduced ticket prices available for groups of two or more, and we guarantee a lot of fun and excitement."

To add to the excitement of the evening a silent auction to benefit the Library Foundation will be held during the tournament, all participants will have an opportunity to bid on a fabulous array of items valued at $6,000 donated by the local business community. If you would like to attend the event to participate in the auction only, non-player tickets are available for $30.

The MONOPOLY game competition is one of many local tournaments held nationwide to assist organizations such as the Grayslake Library Foundation raise funds for their causes. The Library Foundation will use tournament proceeds to create a dedicated space and expanded programs for its Teens Services.
