Sparks Announces Opening of Imagination Workshop
Professor Pennypickle Comes to Life in Temecula, California
PHILADELPHIA, PA (PRWEB) August 15, 2004 -- Sparks Exhibits & Environments, a leading creative event marketing agency and provider of custom environments, announces the completion and opening of the Imagination Workshop, an interactive childrens museum in Temecula, California. Designed to represent the home of a quirky fictitious scientist, the museum occupies the former Temecula Trading Post and has already seen over 200 visitors per day since its unveiling in late June.
The concept for the fictitious scientist, Professor Phineas T. Pennypickle, was the creation of husband and wife team Jeff and Pat Comerchero, a two-term city council member and head of 'Friends of Temecula Childrens Museum group, respectively. The Comercheros first proposed this museum idea to the city in 1997, and in 2001, Sparks was brought in to bring Pennypickles world to life.
With a renowned reputation and expertise in the children museum arena, Sparks was the ideal partner for the fabrication of this environment. Everything seen in the museum is one-of-a-kind and built to withstand constant handling" states Dave Piper, vice president of Sparks museum group. There is an art and science involved in creating this type of environment. We know how to create an engaging atmosphere while keeping safety, durability and dependability at the forefront of our design, which is key to any childrens museum."
The 7500 square foot Pennypickle residence contains inventions that entertain and educate, each room is filled with unique features for all to discover. Sparks goal was to create an environment that crossed the age barrier and the Imagination Workshop accomplishes this by merging science and art to nurture creativity and inspire the imagination of all visitors.
