One of the most important benefits The American Small Business Coalition (The ASBC) provides its small business members is exposure to new market opportunities. The ASBCÂs ability to meet the growing demand for this benefit has just been made substantially easier with the addition of Jenkins Hill LLC as one of its strategic partners.
Jenkins Hill is a public affairs and Federal marketing firm based in Dulles, Virginia. Guy J. Timberlake, principal and co-founder of The ASBC explains, ÂJenkins Hill brings an enormous amount of experience and a distinguished list of accomplishments that will provide an incredible amount of benefit to our members.Â
David E. Poisson, founder and CEO of Jenkins Hill, brings more than a decade-long career in association management, during which time he served as vice president of government and legal affairs and deputy general counsel for the Electronic Industries Association. Mr. Poisson was chief of staff and counsel to then Representative, now Senator Richard J. Durbin of Illinois and legislative director and chief counsel to the late Senator Terry Sanford of North Carolina. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the District of Columbia Bar, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces Bar, U.S. Supreme Court Bar, and the American Society of Association Executives. He has been recognized for his Âextraordinary contributions to the District of Columbia BarÂs Pro Bono Program, which provides free legal assistance to indigent residents of the nationÂs capital, and he has received the Greater Washington Society of Association Executives Community Service Award for his extraordinary commitment to public service and social responsibility in the metropolitan Washington area.
The ASBC is a membership-based small business advocacy group providing procurement-based technical assistance, networking, mentoring and training for companies working with U.S. Government agencies and prime contractors that support the Government. The ASBC also assists Government Small Business Offices without charge in achieving their small business goals. The ASBC membership includes small, woman-owned, minority-owned veteran and service disabled veteran-owned, SBA 8(a) certified, HUB Zone, Alaskan Native and Native American-owned companies. The membership includes sign making, intelligence, telecommunications, IT, training, and medical staffing companies. Several Member Companies possess GovernmentÂissued credentials enabling them to operate in secure environments in support of Federal, defense, law enforcement and intelligence requirements.
The partnership will focus on providing marketing expertise to small businesses that work in the public sector, in addition to management consulting services.
