AN EXCITING OPPORTUNITY IS NOW AVAILABLE TO DO BUSINESS IN THE NEW FOREIGN TRADE ZONE #256 LOACATED IN ROSWELL, NEW MEXIC0
The City of Roswell, New Mexico has created a new U. S. Foreign-Trade Zone, Foreign-Trade Zone No. 256 under a grant of authority issued by the U. S. Foreign-Trade Zones Board pursuant to Board Order No. 1261. The FTZ was approved on December 02, 2002.
ROSWELL, NM (PRWEB) August 15, 2004 -- Foreign-Trade Zone No. 256 consists of 1 site totaling 524 acres located at the Roswell International Air Center. The City of Roswell New Mexico is working with the Lunsford Companies, Inc., TO POSSIBLY ESTABLISH THEM AS ITS first Subzone Operator.
Lunsford Companies, Inc. has been in partnership with Jade Gate Co. Ltd. for the past 10 years. In October of 2003 they imported their first two containers of goods from China to Carlsbad, New Mexico.
Bob Donnell, Executive Director of the Chaves County Development Foundation (CCDF), contacted Mr. Lunsford to discuss whether or not Lunsford Companies, Inc. could benefit from Roswells FTZ as a subzone operator. The CCDF has worked with the City of Roswell to solve all the problems and obstacles associated with establishing the FTZ.
Bill Armstrong Jr., President of the CCDF, in Conjunction with Roswell Mayor Bill Owen, and Harold Hobson, Chairman of the Chaves County Commission are sponsoring a Luncheon Meeting at the Roswell Country Club, Noon on Tuesday, August 17, 2004, to welcome Mr. William B. Lunsford, President of Lunsford Companies, Inc., Mr. Ai Fu Zeng, President OF Jade Gate Co. Ltd. and Mr. Li Xiaofeng, Economic Development Planner, China. They have also invited various business leaders of Roswell, New Mexico to attend the luncheon and extend a warm welcome to our China Visitors.
The CCDF has also arranged a dinner meeting for Rick Homans, Cabinet Secretary for the Economic Development Department of the State of New Mexico to meet with Mr. Lunsford, Mr. Ai Fuzeng, and Mr. Li Xiaofeng.
William B. Lunsford, Mr. Ai Fuzeng and Mayor Sun Yuanliang of Liaoyang, Liaoning, China have extended an invitation to Mayor Bill Owen, Roswell, New Mexico to become sister cities.
Mayor Sun Yuanliang has also extended an invitation to Mayor Owen, Bob Donnell, and Harold Hobson to come to Liaoyang Liaoning, China as guest of William B. Lunsford, Mr. Ai Fuzeng and Mayor Sun Yuanliang to pursue all areas of economic development interest and trade possibilties between Roswell, New Mexico and Liaoyang Liaoning, China.
A FOREIGN TRADE ZONE is an area considered outside of the U.S. Customs territory in which duties on merchandise can be deferred, reduced or in some cases eliminated. A Foreign-Trade Zone is an area where domestic and foreign merchandise is brought for the purpose of storage, manufacturing, assembly, salvage, repackaging, repair, re-export, transfer shipping, exhibiting goods and other operations. Most Foreign-Trade Zones are located in or near U.S. Customs Port of Entry and under U.S. Custom Supervision. Foreign-Trade Zones are also referred to as "FREE PORTS" or FREE ZONES in some parts of the world.
A Foreign-Trade Zone is a unique means of expanding international trade in Roswell, New Mexico as well as stimulating the local economy to provide greater economic growth and employment opportunities to Roswell, New Mexico.
