North Yorkshire Sees Rapid Broadband Expansion

Langreen Ltd increaes its wireless broadband service to more than 50 rural communities in the North Yorkshire region

(PRWEB) August 17, 2004 -- Odiham, UK based wireless broadband service provider, Langreen Ltd has today announced further expansions in North Yorkshire of its highly successful broadband service to rural communities.

The service has now been expanded into the Thirsk area of North Yorkshire as well as the communities of Marton cum Grafton. Langreen now offer full broadband connectivity and Internet access to the residential and business communities of Skipton on Swale, Melmerby, Rainton, Baldersby, Baldersby St James, Ainderby Quernhow, Middleton Quernhow, Howe, Sinderby and Sandhutton in the Thirsk area.

In addition to Marton cum Grafton, the communities of Rufforth, Askham Bryan, Askham Richard, Bilborough, Healaugh, Catterton and Hessay have also been added.
The introduction of these new villages to the broadband service will bring the total communities served by Langreens wireless broadband to more than 50 since February 2004.

Errol Rhoden, the Sales and Marketing Director for Langreen commented, We are committed to providing broadband service to the rural communities. We have recognized in these communities that there is a pent up demand and frustration at the lack of a deliverable and acceptable broadband service. Since early 2004 we have been aggressively rolling services out into the North Yorkshire rural and semi rural communities and will continue this expansion to meet the rapidly increasing demand for the service from both the business and residential communities."

Langreen, now based in Odiham in Hampshire provides broadband Internet access using wireless and satellite backhaul. The company is focused on delivering high speed broadband access and internet connectivity for rural and semi rural communities.

With Langreen broadband residential users are receiving service with up to 512kbps upload and download speeds. Business users also get up to 512kbps upload but have a choice of 1Mbps or 2Mbps download.

Rhoden went on to say From the start we have recognized the need to provide a responsive and fast reactive service for both rural businesses and residents. In addition to our growth in North Yorkshire we have expanded services in Wales and East Anglia and will continue to accelerate broadband connectivity to those communities that express the desire to get service."
