Talk about a band on the move! Boccigalupe & The Badboys, the dynamic 6-piece rock-&-roll band hailing from New Jersey, have plenty of reasons to celebrate.
Front man Tony Amato, a.k.a. Boccigalupe, and band members Billy ÂWonder Walton, Kelly Tyrrel, Rich Taskowitz, Pete Mauer, and Tim Moss, are celebrating the July 13th commercial release on Sound City Music of their debut studio album, ÂItÂs My Turn Now, now available in most stores.
The video shoot for the title track was live on April 30th at The Stone Pony, Asbury Park, New Jersey. The Stone Pony will be celebrating its 30th Anniversary, and Amato celebrated his 30 years playing at that venue. ÂBocci as he is often referred to has been playing in Jersey Shore- based bands since the Â70s, two of which were Cahoots and the George Theiss Band. He formed Boccigalupe & The Badboys a few years ago. In addition to Boccigalupe & The Badboys, the April 30th Stone Pony show included Bruce Springsteen E-Street Band member Soozie Tyrell, and newcomers ÂMaybe Pete.Â
Bocci & the band then headed to the U.K. for a 3-week tour which began on May 20th. As if thatÂs not enough, Bocci made his acting debut in early April with a role in a Carman Production film, "Backstage Pass" which is due out in late November. Then in the early part of 2005 Bocci will be in another film "Where were Gods Angles" (MURDER IN ASBURY PARK - THE MARIE SMITH STORY.)
On August 21, 2004 Bocci and the boys will be at the Colts Neck Fair with John Cafferty and Bever Brown, not to mention on August 22, 2004 they will be at the Clearwater Festival in Asbury Park, NJ.
On September 4, 2004 Boccgalupe & The Badboys will be sharing the bill at the Stone Pony with long time firend and former band mate Gary US Bonds. In October, Bocci and The Badboys will be returning to the United Kingdom for a 2 week tour.
