Can the Internet Stop Hijackers? Absolutely!

By Signing the 'Declaration of Agreement to Resist the Enemy' ordinary citizens can publicly pledge to fight back.

USA (PRWEB) August 18, 2004 -- The government cannot protect passengers when a plane is in the air -- we must protect ourselves. The 9/11 Commission Report gave clear and precise instructions for the government to take to prevent another 9/11 style attack. The report failed to prescribe steps for the American civilian to take.

However, the report clearly stated that increasing a terror attacks odds of failure may make the difference between a plan attempted or a plan discarded" and that The vigilance of ordinary Americans will make a difference."

Today, 4 ordinary and vigilant American Citizens, from 4 different states announce the launch of Dare2Defend.org -- an online web group where other ordinary Americans can voluntarily decide to protect themselves in the air - by reading and publicly signing the Declaration of Agreement to Resist the Enemy."

If the government was capable of putting 20 - 30 air marshals on board every flight, then it's likely that no flight would ever be hijacked again. Dare2defend.org understands that the government does not have that capability and so we seek to have ordinary citizens fill that roll.

The group seeks to establish a volunteer civilian populace -- a civilian 'Air Marshal group, committed to the prevention of the terrorist hijackers mission. The members of Dare2Defend.org understand that the threat of hijack has not diminished and the best way to eliminate this threat is by taking steps to increase the odds of failure. We will provide every citizen the opportunity to maximize their chance of survival.

The signers of the 'Declaration of Agreement to Resist the Enemy will publicly and openly pledge to fight and resist any attempt at taking control of our aircraft by any unauthorized persons. We pledge to resist and fight an attempted hijack with overwhelming unity. The members list page will contain the names of the signers and will send a clear message to any potential hijacker that we will not be passive.

'We believe that the average American citizen is fed up with being afraid of flying" said Jonathan OKeefe -- author of the Declaration. 'We believe that we can eliminate the threat of hijack by agreeing to resist the threat with the overwhelming unity of American resolve. If every passenger on board is a member of Dare2Defend.org, if every passenger on board has pledged to immediately stand up and put the threat down, then the odds of the terror mission failing are virtually guaranteed and this is the message we are prepared to send our enemy."

The 'Declaration can be viewed at http://www.dare2defend.org - Potential members can sign the 'Declaration beginning September 11,2004.
