Athena Controls introduces new Platinum Q Series line of 1/4 DIN temperature and process controllers

PLYMOUTH MEETING, PA (PRWEB) August 18, 2004 -- Athena Controls, Inc. (Athena) introduces 3 new 1/4 DIN controllers. The Platinum Q Series, which includes the Model Q100 & Q400 Temperature Controller and the Model Q5000 Process Controller, is designed to serve a wide range of thermal processing applications. Main features include heat/cool (linear, water, oil) capability; clear and comprehensive ergonomic keypad display; absolute, band and deviation alarms; optional serial communications (9,600 baud Modbus/Jbus protocol) and more.

The Q100 temperature controller provides up to 0.1% input accuracy. Standard features include four standard outputs, current transformer input, and transmitter power supply at a low price. Also, two automatic "one shot" Fuzzy-Tuning frequency methods are offered; the standard Auto-Tuning and the Natural frequency tuning that allows more refined parameters to be calculated; the Q100 automatically select the method which assures the best result for each condition. Options include 24Vac/dc power, triac outputs, remote setpoint input, analog retransmission output, valve drive output, start-up/timer software, and setpoint program software with up to 8 segments in one program.

The Q400 temperature controller provides the added standard feature to the Q100 description above of three digital inputs, while offering the option of analog control or retransmission output.

The Q5000 process controller offers a higher level processor for increased update times. It also comes standard with 5 outputs, 3 digital inputs, remote setpoint input, pontentiometer input, transmitter power supply, and valve drive output software. Options include 24Vac/dc power, triac outputs, Modbus/Jbus or Profibus communications, frequency input, one additional analog or logic output, and setpoint program software with up to 4 programs with 8 segments each.

All models are CE-compliant and come with a 3-year warranty. Technical application assistance is available from Athena.
