The Recondites' Electric Era - Debut release for Rasputin Records

New UK independent record label Rasputin Records announces its first release, Electric Era by The Recondites.

Chicago, IL (PRWEB) August 20, 2004 -- Rasputin Records are pleased to announce their debut release, the EP Electric Era by The Recondites.

Rasputin Records is the brain/lovechild of Tom Besly and Andy Wiggins, as a nice sideline to their university studies and a first foray into the music business which for them both has long been an interest. There was never any doubt as to the first release.

Between them Tom and Andy have known members of The Recondites for most of their lives, and have known the 5-piece as a collective since 2001. The band recorded their first EP, Superposition under their own steam. The content was taken from their already popular and strong live performances, but the CD was blighted by poor recording and production.

A record label had long been on the cards for Tom and Andy, and finally in 2004 it became a reality along with another longtime friend, Emily Gibson. During a break in their university studies, The Recondites went into the studio to record what was originally planned to be a full-length album. Tracks were dropped however, before recording went underway at The Maclagan Men, Stoke and Prism Studios, Hanley.

The EP features one track that originally appeared on Superposition, Broken Hearted in its new, rerecorded form. And 5 other tracks which have all been heard as a part of the group's ever popular live perfomances. The tracklisting is as follows:

1. Broken Hearted (re-recorded)
2. Marks Of Woe
3. Autobahn Baby
4. Romancing The Continent
5. I'm So Gay
6. Girl Of Dreams

Interestingly, the track Electric Era doesn't make it onto the CD having been dropped from the recording schedule. The Recondites promise that it will be heard in studio recording form along with new material currently being penned on a forthcoming, but as yet unscheduled, release.

The band comprises, Guy Gibbs (vocals), Kiran Gowda (guitar), Joe Bailey (bass), Seb Greenhough (drums) and Tom Winter (guitar).

Artwork for the album was designed by Rachel MacLeod under direction from the band and features photographs taken by numerous fans and by Rasputinite Andy. The band would like to thank Glyn and Nathan of Big Cash Prizes, John from The Maclagan Men and Shaun from Prism Studios for their assistance and time during recording of the EP.

The CD will be available from some shops (TBA), from Recondite gigs and from the Rasputin online shop, which will launch shortly.

The band will be undertaking numerous live shows to fit in and around their respective university courses, news of which will be announced on the band's website: www.therecondites.tk

Interviews available with band members and Tom Besly of Rasputin in the Stoke-on-Trent area and with Andy Wiggins in Chicago. For more info please email info@rasputinrecords.co.uk
