Jenkins to Debate Incumbent in Texas 3rd District

Paul Jenkins, running as an independent this November for the U.S. House of Representatives in Texas District 3, has agreed to participate in a candidates forum sponsored by The League of Women Voters of Plano/Collin County, The League of Women Voters of Richardson, and the American Association of University Women of Plano/Collin County.

Plano, TX (PRWEB) August 20, 2004 -- Paul Jenkins, running as an independent this November for the U.S. House of Representatives in Texas District 3, has agreed to participate in a candidates forum sponsored by The League of Women Voters of Plano/Collin County, The League of Women Voters of Richardson, and the American Association of University Women of Plano/Collin County.

The forum will take place at 7:00pm on October 7th in the Council Chamber of the Plano Municipal Center, 1520 K Avenue, Plano, Texas.

In announcing the forum acceptance given today, Mr. Jenkins said, I am delighted that the League of Women Voters of Plano/Collin County, the League of Women Voters of Richardson and the American Association of University Women of Plano/Collin County have invited me to participate in this forum. This is a great opportunity for the people of the 3rd District to hear my views unfiltered by the media and for me to debate the seven-term incumbent Republican on the important issues facing the voters."

Jenkins went on to say I believe that once the voters of the 3rd District understand that they have a real fiscally conservative, socially moderate choice this November, we will prevail. The people of the 3rd District want independent, non-partisan leadership in Congress with fresh ideas on how to solve our problems, and I represent the clear choice this November to bring that about."

Mr. Jenkins has been a Plano resident for more than 10 years and owns and operates a consulting firm that advises clients on technology and management issues. He graduated with a degree in electrical engineering from Georgia Tech in Atlanta, Georgia. Mr. Jenkins is married with three children.

The election for U.S. Congress will be held November 2, 2004. Jenkins for Congress' campaign web site is at http://www.jenkins2004.com
