Cross the New York County Line for American Roots Music

Music Showcase of American Roots music

(PRWEB) August 21, 2004 -- The American roots music showcase New York County comes to The Baggot Inn on Saturday, September 18, at 7pm and will feature performances by some of the citys most prolific roots rock musicians. New York County was established to promote the careers and music of artists who blend elements of rock, blues and country into fresh and exciting sounds while fulfilling the growing interest in the roots of American music.

The Americana music showcase is the brainchild of Coppersonic, a New York based band whose sound is steeped in this blend of traditional music. The idea for New York County came about when the band recognized the lack of events that specifically emphasized this rising trend in music.

After contacting other like musicians, enthusiastic about participating in the showcase, Coppersonic approached The Baggot Inn a popular club in New Yorks west village. The clubs booking agent expressed interest in the event and worked with the bands to setup the first New York County show.

Joining Coppersonic the night of the showcase will be Geordie Austen, Pete Diamond, Sin&Tonic and The Sloe Guns. New York County will allow the artists involved the opportunity to gain exposure to a wider audience while fulfilling the popular demand for American roots music without leaving the city.

Following the show at The Baggot Inn, New York County will continue to add new artists to its roster and bring some of the best Americana music to city. Future plans include taking New York County on the road to other cities in the region.
