BuffaloWiFi.org (NY) expands coverage to Erie Basin Marina, Niagara Square and several City Hall Locations

Eleven local government, commercial and not for profit organizations have joined together to develop a series of free internet access areas. Lafayette Square was used as a pilot in 2003 and several new locations are now available. More installations are under consideration and talks are ongoing regarding access and sponsorship. Distinctive blue stickers showing the sponsors and instructions for use have been placed in areas that have this service (contacts above for graphic). Each site presents a unique page of information about the local area with a map and neighborhood information. Using the approaches created for these locations, many areas around the region could easily duplicate the access.
