ALL SEVEN Venice California Group Show

A celebration of seven Venice California artist at Thing Studio in Venice California

Venice CA (PRWEB) August 21, 2004 -- All 7

Kristin Corning, Jimmy Herciuk, David Hinnebusch, Thomas Scott Howes, Mike Illes, Ras Jiro and Aaron Waugh, Seven West-side artists celebrate their success with an inside exhibition of new work from September 17th through September 24th, 2004 at Thing Studio in Venice. A reception for the artists will be from 5-11 p.m. Friday September 17 2004 .

The styles of the work are mixed. All paint various modern, expressionist, and "street" works and Ras Jiro, the nomad in the group, uses the camera. The underlying theme is that pure creative energy does thrive in many aesthetic forms in the hot bed of kitch commercialism that is Los Angeles and the seven are inextricably linked- like fingers from the same hands which reach from the Pacific Ocean and from Lincoln Blvd. into Venice.

Kristin Corning: "We are the visual bards of today set up on our concrete corners peddling stains and suffering our jazz our passion our self- taught experience because we have to we want to and we are."

Aaron Waugh, a Venice based artist has had numerous one mans shows around the world over the last 14 years. His work is on exhibit locally in galleries and cafés and in UCLA Medical Center. He is known primarily for nudes , mixed media typographical expressions, and jazz style figurative paintings.

David Hinnebusch has done commissioned work with Laddie John Dill for the City of Santa Monica. Hinnebusch and Jimmy Herciuk donate work to the Venice Art Walk.

Corning, Hinnebusch, and Herciuk sell and exhibit their paintings on Oceanfront in Venice and have an international client base. Corning, Herciuk and Mike Illes live in their studios in Venice and, Scott Howes, artist actor film maker, is "...the new baby in the group- our little lamb, he's our sponsee so to speak" says Hinnebusch, "... and as for the opening no touchy- feely tea party theme. We aren't the magnificent 7 or the 7 deadly sins, nor the Seven Wonders of the world, 7 continents 7-days of the week or even the magical Venice psychic 7 being the number of perfection etc. ad nauseam--- we're not even the 7 artists crucified in the sand on Oceanfront to the theme of a 7- Up commercial. We're seven West-side artists who create and make a living in Venice doing. My experience in Venice tells me the world is starving for real art. The stories I have from being there are fantastic and sublime"

Aaron Waugh: "The viewer is free to draw up it's own conclusions of my work, it allows one to exercise an independent mind and use the imagination, In other words there are many possible meanings, but we are free to choose our own"... "I'm a painter exploring 'OUT of the BOX'"

Know this event will super charge your souls with inspiration - may be even to create yourselves!
