INPROCOMM Announces Product Receiving IEEE 802.11 a/b/g WiFi Certification
An IEEE 802.11 a/b/g Dual-Band wireless network card with its high-performance IPN5320 baseband-MAC (BB-MAC) IC, had received IEEE 802.11 a/b/g WiFi certification (with certification ID: W002559) in July 2004.
Hsinchu, Taiwan (PRWEB) August 22, 2004 -- First Taiwan based Wireless LAN Integrated Circuit Vendor Receives 802.11 a/b/g WiFi certification. Inprocomm, Inc. (INPROCOMM), a supplier of innovative Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) integrated circuits (ICs) solutions, announced today one of its wireless LAN solutions -- an IEEE 802.11 a/b/g Dual-Band wireless network card with its high-performance IPN5320 baseband-MAC (BB-MAC) IC, had received IEEE 802.11 a/b/g WiFi certification (with certification ID: W002559) in July 2004.
Inprocomm's IPN5320 is an ASIC solution integrating baseband processing and Medium Access Control (MAC) for WLAN. It provides all the needed analog and digital functionalities for IEEE 802.11a + g baseband processing and MAC protocol support in a single chip.
IEEE 802.11a standard offers three critical advantages:
-It runs in the 5-GHz band, free of interferences from the crowded 2.4-GHz band.
-It provides maximum bandwidth of 54 Mbps faster than 11 Mbps of 802.11b.
-It offers 12 to 24 radio channels instead of only three channels in 802.11b and 802.11g, so far more throughput can be offered to many more users.
