Dr. Maya Angelou, one of the most prolific figures of the 20th and early 21st century, will begin a tour of U.S cities January 24th in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Angelou is responsible for countless books, poems, plays, television and theatre appearances, and is only the second poet in U.S. History to write and recite original work at the Presidential Inauguration. She will tour at least eight different states and 13 cities, including Birmingham, AL; Jackson, MS; Memphis, TN; St. Louis, Chicago, New York, Houston, Dallas, and ending in Phoenix, Arizona on February 18th. She plans to speak to students at public schools on issues of history, heritage and the heroics of living life as if it were created “just for you.”
