Redmond has been a member of the organization for over six years and will serve a one-year term as a member of the Board. In this position, she will serve as a liaison between teachers and the community to ensure that the organization meets the needs of Wake County children.

Communities In Schools (CIS) is the nations largest stay-in school network, serving just over one million youth in 154 communities across the United States. CIS is providing the link between teachers and the community -- by bringing caring adults into the schools and community sites to meet childrens needs.
